A one-month-old Asian small-clawed otter pup, born to first-time parents at the Denver Zoo, has been named Jai.

Jai, pronounced “J-eye,” is a name with Indian and Sanskrit origin meaning “victory and triumph,” according to proud zoo officials. The male pup weighs just over one pound and his eyes remain closed while he grows and matures.

Jai has been squirming around a den box with his parents, Pintar and Bu. Zoo officials say the three go together like “PB&J!”

The zoo otters are not in public view at this time, but a live camera is set up in their den and zoo visitors can view the otters on streaming video during their visit. People can at: .
