The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 have been shut down at Silverthorne by a fatal crash near the Eisenhower Tunnel.
EB I-70 is closed at Silverthorne, exit 205 due to a fatal crash near the Eisenhower Tunnel. All eastbound traffic is being diverted to Loveland Pass via US 6.

The closure is expected to be extended, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Traffic is being detoured onto U.S. Highway 6 over Loveland Pass.
The two-vehicle crash involved a semi truck and a box truck, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman. A passenger in the box truck died in the crash. Both drivers declined medical attention at the scene. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
