Six injured in weekend shootings, stabbings around metro Denver

Denver police also investigating weekend homicide in Capitol Hill

At least six people were injured over the weekend in shootings and stabbings in Denver and Aurora, and a man was found dead in his apartment in Capitol Hill, prompting a homicide investigation.

On Saturday, Denver police officers responded to a deceased man in his apartment at 12th Avenue and Logan Street. on Sunday they were conducting a homicide investigation in the man’s death.

Officials have not yet released a cause of death.

The in the 2200 block of Lawrence Street in Five Points. A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and police took a suspect into custody.

Overnight Saturday, two men were injured in Aurora in a shooting near Mississippi Avenue and Buckley Road, Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Later on Sunday about 8 p.m., near Parker Road and Arapahoe Road in south Aurora.

The last two incidents were reported early Monday morning in Denver.

A in the 3500 block of Mariposa Street, Denver police reported just after midnight, and reported a couple hours later in Westwood near the 3500 block of West Walsh Place.

A suspect in the stabbing was taken into custody.
