Firefighters used ladders to rescue two children from a two-story residential fire on Saturday morning, and one person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The fire in a home in the Cole neighborhood, near East 37th Avenue and Humboldt Street, is out, according to the Denver Fire Department.

Firefighters responding encountered flames on the first floor, according to the fire department. Two children who were evacuated by ladder from a second-story residence were treated by emergency responders at the scene. One person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
