People comfort each other after leaving courtroom 309 at Arapahoe County District Court in Centennial on Thursday, June 29, 2023, following a bond hearing for David Lechner, who is accused of murdering his wife, Tracy Lechner. The Colorado Supreme Court recently ruled that judges can no longer deny bond to defendants charged with first-degree murder. Family members of Tracy Lechner and their supporters turned out to the hearing in protest of any bail being issued. The judge issued a $100 million cash-only bail for David Lechner.
