Regis University in Denver was under lockdown for a short time Thursday morning as police searched for a homicide suspect.

Those on campus had been asked to shelter in place and get to a safe location.

The homicide occurred at West 50th Avenue and Federal Boulevard, but 16 minutes after Regis posted the lockdown alert on social media, the university announced that the suspect was arrested at 55th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard.

The suspect, Vinchenzo Moscoso, 30, is also suspected of killing a man on an RTD bus earlier that morning.

The lockdown was lifted, and the university said police believe there is no longer a danger associated with the incident.

Denver police announced that officers were investigating a homicide at 50th Avenue and Federal Boulevard at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday after a stabbing in the area, and that they had taken one person into custody.
