Driver accused of hitting two parole officers in Colorado Springs is captured

A driver suspected of striking two state parole officers in a hit-and-run Thursday in Colorado Springs has been captured.

Justin Andrew Kula, 41, was the subject of a for the incident at North Spruce and West Bijou streets on Thursday. that was reported at 3:45 p.m. Police said a dark-colored Lexus RX 330 struck the two officers and fled the scene intersection of North Spruce and West Bijou streets on Thursday. One of the officers was seriously injured.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation activated a Blue Alert in the case, which notifies the public when a suspect seriously injures or kills a law enforcement officer. The alert ended at about 7:32 p.m. announcing that Kula and his vehicle had been found.
