A missing Jefferson County man last seen in southern Colorado Wednesday was found dead Saturday in New Mexico.
A Senior Alert was issued for Richard Davis, 93, who was reported missing Wednesday from his Jefferson County house and last seen driving a Honda CRV on Interstate 25 near Trinidad.
Davis was found in Mora County, New Mexico with his car at Charette Lake.

A Colorado State trooper assisted Davis near Trinidad on Interstate 25 Wednesday evening after he ran out of gas, before he had been reported missing.
“At that time, Davis was lucid and showed no signs of distress,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a post on X, but ” Davis’s family says he has no reason whatsoever to be traveling through southern Colorado.”
