Parts of the Denver metro area could see some freezing drizzle and light snow Wednesday morning.
Snow chances then increase throughout the day, with Denver likely to receive about an inch of snow by Wednesday night, said.
A Wednesday morning until noon for the foothills west and south of Denver and much of Douglas County for possible freezing drizzle and snow.
There probably won’t be much accumulation in this first round, up to an inch but most likely about a quarter inch, but forecasters warned drivers roads in the area could get slick from what does fall.
After that, a bout of snow could lift into Denver Wednesday afternoon through midnight, dropping an inch of snow in the city.
Denver has about a 60% chance of snow Wednesday evening.
Areas south of Denver toward Colorado Springs could see up to six inches of snow by Thursday.
Daytime high temperatures are expected to warm up to the 40s and 50s after Wednesday’s 36-degree high, but low temperatures are expected to stay below freezing through the weekend.
