Suspect identified in fatal stabbing of 20-year-old woman outside Federal Heights apartment

A 35-year-old man is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old woman outside Tuscan Heights Apartments in Federal Heights on Saturday, according to police.

Adrian Carracedo-Vega is suspected of homicide in connection with the death of Sachely Diaz at the apartment complex at 1700 W. 85th Ave.

Carracedo-Vega may be heading to Texas or attempting to cross the border into Mexico, according to the Federal Heights Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a woman who had possibly been stabbed outside the apartments at approximately 3:27 p.m., .

The woman, who police identified as Diaz on Tuesday, was taken to North Suburban Medical Center and later died, according to the department.

Investigators believe Carracedo-Vega and Diaz knew each other, according to the news release.
