U.S. 287 reopens north of Longmont after two crashes

Wrecks happened just north of Yellowstone Road

U.S. 287 has reopened in both directions between Longmont and Berthoud after it was closed for about six hours after two crashes on the roadway, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

CDOT reported the closure at 9:06 a.m. at Horseshoe Circle just north of Yellowstone Road. It reported on X the road was reopened as of 3 p.m.

Mountain View Fire Rescue officials expected the road to be closed for an “extended period” and advised drivers to find an alternate route.
