One person has been arrested following a fatal shooting in Highlands Ranch on Sunday morning.
Deputies arrested Sean Gipson, 33, in connection with the shooting in the 800 block of Elmhurst Drive, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Monday.
Gipson was taken into custody shortly after Douglas County sheriff’s deputies arrived on a call about shots being fired in connection with a possible family disturbance, according to a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on X.
The shooting happened around 10:24 a.m., the news release said.
The Douglas County coroner will release the dead person’s identity.
Deputy Cocha Heyden said no further information would be released until more steps had been taken in the investigation. There is no public threat related to the shooting, she said.
