Former Home of the Year on Vail mountainside lists for nearly $50 million

The eight-bedroom, over 12,000-square-foot home was formerly named 2010 Home of the Year by Mountain Living

A true ski-in, ski-out home in Vail just went on the market for any alpine adventure lover with $49.5 million to spare.

Featuring eight bedrooms and bathrooms with two half bathrooms, the 12,447-square-foot property at features an expansive great room, a private master bedroom with views of the Gore Range, and a lower-level media room with direct access to a private hot tub, according to broker Liz Leeds and .

“It’s probably the highest priced single-family home that we’ve ever listed,” Leeds said over the phone Wednesday afternoon.

Overlooking Vail Village, the property was named Home of the Year by Mountain Living magazine upon its completion in 2010, and a recent renovation of the property made the home more contemporary with new paint and carpeting, Leeds said. Additionally, two bedrooms were combined into the master bedroom and adjacent bathroom.

The three-story home also features two garage stalls and eight parking spaces, . Many of the interior furnishings are custom made, and the property also features a lap pool in addition to the hot tub.

“(This is) the true definition of luxury in the Colorado Rockies,” Leeds said in the promotional video.
