Suspect arrested in shooting death of woman in Sheridan

Police investigating domestic violence case in neighborhood east of Marston Lake

A suspect has been arrested in the death of a woman found with a gunshot wound at the 3400 block of West Dill Road early on Thursday morning.

“This is an isolated incident involving a domestic violence situation. There is no immediate threat to the community…” Sheridan Police said .

Roy Jones, 53, was arrested in Adams County and will be charged with first-degree murder in the case, according to an update from the Sheridan Police.

The shooting happened in a residential neighborhood to the east of Marston Lake. An active investigation is underway and more information will be provided as it becomes available, according to the Sheridan police.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified the victim as Angela Theresa Cordova, 52, and ruled her death a homicide.
