Fatal crash involving motorcycle shuts down Smoky Hill Road for hours

East Smoky Hill Road was shut down for nearly three hours Tuesday after a fatal crash involving a motorcycle, sheriff’s officials said.

The road was closed in Arapahoe County between South Tower Road and South Waco Street near Centennial’s Arrowhead Park, . South Waco Street was also shut down in both directions at East Smoky Hill Road for the crash.

Sheriff’s officials closed East Smoky Hill Road around 3:44 p.m., and the road reopened around 6:26 p.m., according to .

The sheriff’s office’s Traffic Safety Unit asks anyone with information about this crash who saw a motorcycle traveling west on Smoky Hill around 3:15 pm to call 720-874-3707.
