A man was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole Thursday for a 2022 shooting that left another man dead in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood.

Dydrick Martin, 27, was convicted Oct. 11 of first-degree murder for the Christmas Day killing of Torrese Gill, Jr., 25, according to court records and

Police found Gill suffering from a gunshot wound in the 4800 block of North Crown Boulevard, and Gill was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

“Judge (Eric) Johnson’s sentence will ensure that Dydrick Martin is being held accountable for his actions and will never be free to commit other crimes,” DA Beth McCann said in the release.
