Update 5:10 p.m.: Multiple Colorado highways closed Monday for crashes and safety concerns as a winter storm blew strong winds across metro Denver and caused icy driving conditions in the mountains.

Original story: Westbound Interstate 70 has reopened near Copper Mountain after Monday morning “safety concerns” closed the lanes as snow continued to fall, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The westbound interstate was closed between Exit 195 for Copper Mountain and Exit 180 for Vail, , but had reopened as of 9:30 a.m.
in the area of the closure showed white, icy roads and blowing snow.
U.S. 40 was also closed in both directions Monday morning near Winter Park for safety concerns as crews worked to remove snow from the roadway, .
That highway was closed between Cooper Creek Way and Henderson Mine Road near Winter Park and reopened around 9 a.m. Monday.
