
Two major wildfires were raging around Southern California on Tuesday, Jan. 14, forcing evacuations and threatening homes in Los Angeles County. .
The Eaton fire, affecting areas in Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre and La Cañada Flintridge, has burned more than 14,117 acres and is 35% contained as of Tuesday morning. Fire officials report that have been damaged by the fire.
The Palisades fire, which started in Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, Jan. 7, , with evacuations expanding rapidly in Encino, Tarzana and Brentwood since Friday night as flames lit up ridge lines and threatened homes in Mandeville Canyon. It is 17% contained.
As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the fires had burned about 37,000 acres.
In Sylmar, the Hurst fire was at 799 acres Tuesday, forcing emergency evacuations in some neighborhoods. It was 97% contained as of Tuesday morning.
