None of the 49 people detained after a raid on a makeshift nightclub in Adams County are facing criminal charges, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Rocky Mountain Division.
The Jan. 26 raid on a warehouse in the 6600 block of Federal Boulevard was designed to target drug trafficking and the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, said previously. Forty-one of those detained were living in the country illegally.
But investigators only found “user quantities” of drugs and weapons thrown out during the raid that couldn’t be used to bring charges through the U.S. Attorney’s Office, DEA spokesperson Steffan Tubbs said in an email.
The confirmed on Thursday that no charges have been filed in connection with the raid, but spokesperson Melissa Brandon declined to say whether law enforcement submitted any cases for consideration.
The had not received any cases connected to the raid for charging consideration as of Thursday, spokesperson Chris Hopper said.
ICE spokesperson Steve Kotecki said he could not say how many of the 41 detained on immigration holds remained in custody on Thursday.
