A fast-growing wildfire that sparked west of Berthoud on Monday amid dry, hot weather and Red Flag warnings burned across 30 acres and damaged one home before firefighters contained it.

All mandatory and voluntary evacuations were lifted for the CR 8E fire near Dry Creek Reservoir in the 5300 block of West County Road 8E, said Andrew Kuiken with the Berthoud Fire Protection District.

Flames damaged one home, but the extent of the damage was not available Monday night, said Kate Kimble with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

No injuries were reported, and the cause and origin of the fire are under investigation, Kimble said.

The fire was reported around 1:40 p.m. and forced mandatory evacuations near Carter Lake Reservoir to the west, Homer and Windemere roads to the north, Dry Creek Reservoir to the south and North County Road 23 to the east, .
