One person was rescued and taken to a hospital Thursday evening after a house fire broke out in Adams County, destroying a home in the 9800 block of East 138th Place.

Ty Ono, spokesperson for the Brighton Fire Rescue District, told The Denver Post that there were no fatalities in the fire, which was first detected shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Ono said it’s not clear how severely injured the rescued resident is. Investigators were working in the neighborhood between Brighton and Thornton to determine what caused the fire.

Photos posted to social media showed a home fully engulfed in flames. The home is just north of the Riverdale Dunes Gold Course and south of E-470.
