Flight delays piled up at Denver International Airport on Wednesday afternoon after federal officials ordered a ground delay because of thunderstorms.
The lifted the ground delay as of 6 p.m., about two hours after the agency rolled it out because of storms.
The traffic management program delayed Denver flights by an average of 46 minutes on Wednesday.
The storm briefly reduced visibility to 3.5 miles and caused wind gusts over 30 mph at the airport, according to the

Airlines reported 396 delayed flights as of 6 p.m., including 152 on Southwest, 127 on United and 73 on SkyWest, according to the flight tracking website .
