The Colorado State Patrol is seeking information on a man suspected of hurting a tow truck operator badly enough to send the victim to the hospital.
The tow truck driver had stopped about 7:33 p.m. Sunday on eastbound Interstate 70, just west of Limon, to tow a disabled vehicle from the shoulder. The tow truck driver waved at a passing vehicle to ask its driver to move over, according to a news release from CSP.
The passing driver then stopped his vehicle in front of the tow truck and allegedly got into a physical altercation with its operator. The tow truck driver, a 51-year-old man, was later taken to a hospital with serious bodily injuries, according to the release.
The suspect fled the scene in a 2007 Dodge Dakota, Colorado license plate AEMF22, that was pulling a two-wheel car and hauling five tires in the truck bed. He was last seen heading eastbound on I-70. The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall and aged about mid-50s. He had a receding hairline with long hair in the back. He was last seen wearing jean overalls and a white T-shirt referencing a national park in Utah.
