Recognizing decreasing customer demand and an expected upswing in reservoir storage levels, the Denver Water board today voted to adopt a much more lenient set of summertime watering rules than in recent years.
Unlike previous years, the panel did not impose a per-station time limit on the operation of lawn sprinklers.
The utility’s 1 million customers will be asked to refrain from watering their lawns from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning June 1.
The board is also suggesting that customers water only as needed, but not to exceed three days a week.
Homeowners with even-numbered addressed will be asked to water only on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, while odd-numbered addresses should water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
