Announcing

The National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers (NASPAA), the professional association for sports public address announcers, has selected Frank Palmeri of Wheat Ridge, a 51-year announcing veteran, as the 2004-05 NASPAA high school announcer of the year.

Additionally, Palmeri was selected as the 2004-05 NASPAA Region 6 announcer of the year. Region 6 is represented by Colorado, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

At the high school level, Palmeri has announced the Colorado High School Activities Association state wrestling championships for 51 years. He also has announced the CHSAA state basketball and track championships for 45 and 30 years, respectively, as well as CHSAA state playoff events for more than 50 years.

Track

Lutheran will be hosting an event to open its new all-weather track. The Making Track(s) Meet will be held June 8, 6:30 p.m. There will be 100- and 400-meter races, and the mile for students, and 400-meter, 1- and 2-mile events for adults.
