DU women’s coach names assistants

University of Denver women’s basketball coach Pam Tanner has completed her staff by hiring assistants Tanya Haave and Marisa Moseley.

Haave, who played at Tennessee in the early 1980s after graduating from Evergreen High School, was an assistant at Colorado from 2001-05 and Regis from 1999-2001. She also played professionally in Europe and Australia.

Moseley is getting her first shot at coaching after completing her playing career in 2004 at Boston University.

New track coach at Western State

Ryan Baily, who became an assistant track and field coach at Western State in December, will take over as head coach, athletic director Greg Waggoner announced.

Baily replaces John Johnson, who resigned. Baily spent a year as a graduate assistant at Cumberland (Ky.) College before going to Gunnison. He was a decathlete at Chadron (Neb.) State from 1998-2003 and was Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion in 2001.

Regis lacrosse players in all-star game

Recently graduated Regis lacrosse players Salli and Suzi Schlacks will play in an NCAA Division II all-star game in Maryland in June. The twins from Glen Ellyn, Ill., will play for the North team in the STX Farewell Lacrosse Festival in Baltimore on June 4 for players who finished their senior seasons.

Northeastern J.C. player signs with N.M. State

Northeastern Junior College forward Supo Jegede has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for New Mexico State. He averaged 10.3 points for the Plainsmen.
