Journey is this year’s act for the third-annual Raising the Roof benefit for Mullen High School. Journey is on tour celebrating its 30th year. The tour, 30 Years of Journey, is billed as “the concert that takes you back and into the future.”
It visits the Universal Lending Pavilion on Aug. 2. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($45-$200, Ticketmaster).
Willie Nelson will provide his own reggae on the rocks this summer when he visits Denver a month and a day after Lost Highway releases his first reggae CD, “Countryman.” It comes out Aug. 2; Nelson plays Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Sept. 3. Devo, The English Beat, Missing Persons, A Flock of Seagulls and Real Life bring the new-wave sounds of the late ’70s and the early ’80s to Coors Amphitheatre on Aug. 23. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($19.80- $65, Ticketmaster).
KOOL Koncert 2005 features Little Richard, The Raspberries, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Spinners, BJ Thomas, The Box Tops and Gary Lewis & The Playboys. The concert takes place July 2 at Coors Amphitheatre. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($20- $40, Ticketmaster).
