John Dutton threw six touchdown passes to help the Colorado Crush beat the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats 56-48 in a divisional round playoff game Sunday.
Dutton’s 38-yard scoring strike to Damian Harrell early in the fourth quarter broke a 42-42 tie and the Crush held on to advance to the National Conference championship game next week at home against the Chicago Rush.
Dutton, who led the SaberCats to the 2002 ArenaBowl title, was 19-for-29 for 315 yards, and Harrell finished with five catches for 102 yards and two TDs.
Mark Grieb was 34-for-55 for 392 yards and six TDs for San Jose.
