Flexible mouse recharges while it works
You don’t have to worry about the batteries giving out while pointing and clicking with Targus’ Rechargeable Stow-N-Go Wireless Optical Mouse. That’s because plugging the mouse into a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on your computer can charge its two AAA batteries as you work. When the batteries have juice, you also can use the mouse without a cable via its wireless USB receiver. When not in use, the receiver can be stashed in a compartment underneath the mouse. This also conserves battery life by turning off the mouse. Cost: $50.

Steal the mike and belt out your favorite tune
Think you can carry a tune better than Jessica Simpson? You can give it a go with My Voice, a program that lets you replace a singer’s vocals on an audio CD with your own voice. Using the Windows-based software, you can “hide” the main vocals on the CD while recording and mixing your own voice over the original song. You also can adjust the octave, change the tempo and add new lyrics. If you have trouble remembering the words to a song, place the lyrics in a “karaoke” window and the program will display them in sync with the music. The eMedia Music title is scheduled to go on sale in September for $30.
