LUPEC cares. Saturday
LUPEC, a locally-organized proactive group, is taking control.
LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails) is concerned about the lack of high school dances post-primary education graduation, and wants to provide an atmosphere for crushes without curfew or chaperones.
Dancing, drinking, all-out old fashioned socializing, all while carrying the 150 year American tradition of dangerous women calling themselves Ladies and getting together in groups, clubs, and societies to work undercover while they chipped away at the patriarchy.
DJs The Postman, Wigdan Giddy, Yer Momm to spin, specials to drink.
Proceeds will benefit Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.
What: CRUSH!
Where: hi-dive, 7 South Broadway, 9 p.m.
Cost: $5

And now…the Muskrat Ramble! Friday, Saturday, Sunday
There’s something to be said…
No, wait, many things to be said about rag time.
Perhaps it’s the air in the mile high city that lingers with lust for the saloon double-door swinging days of the Colorado frontier, or just that we’re sick of dance club bump & grind.
Who knows.
But there’s something about rag time that seriously makes you want to dance (and, I don’t know, pack a flask of hooch in your stockings).
With maybe the most clever acronym ever, CFootMad (Colorado Friends Of Old Time Music And Dance) presents their Rag Time Tea Dance this Sunday (with other events all weekend), with a live Tango and Rag Orchestra.

Four years. Sunday
A message from Buzzworthy:
This Sunday marks the four-year spot from the tragedy on September 11, 2001.
The date is tattooed on ourselves, our history and our future, and with even more recent, more devastating tragedies, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how we can appropriately honor all of our fallen fellow citizens.
Sadly, I don’t have an answer for you.
No matter on which side of the political line you might fall, take some time this Sunday for reflection.
Thanks.
