Tyler Goulding tied for third at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Sunday, leading Air Force to a team victory in its season-opening men’s golf tournament.

Goulding, a junior from Tracy, Calif., shot a third consecutive 1-under-par 71 and finished at 3-under in the three- round tournament played at the 7,301-yard Blue Course at the Academy’s Eisenhower Golf Club.

The Falcons, 4-over as a team, finished four strokes ahead of Weber State, followed by Long Beach State, Boise State and California. It was only Air Force’s third win in the tournament since it began in 1969. Northern Colorado, led by Dustin Mills and Kyle Sullivan, tied Utah for sixth.

Corner kicks power DU soccer team

Liam Girard’s two assists off corner kicks pointed the University of Denver to a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin- Green Bay in men’s soccer at Pioneer Field.

After trailing 1-0, DU improved to 2-1-1 with goals from Thomas Flynn, a senior from Broomfield High School, and Ben Mendozza, a junior from Grandview.
