Hays, Kan. – Danny Medina passed for 353 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Colorado School of Mines beat Fort Hays State 46-10.
Mines (3-3, 3-0 RMAC) took command early, leading 21-0 after the first quarter as Bryan Florendo scored on runs of 9 yards and 1 yard and Medina connected with Justin Gallas on a 37-yard TD pass.
Fort Hays (2-4, 2-2) scored on Justin Gottula’s 1-yard run early in the second quarter but trailed 33-7 at halftime.
Florendo added a 48-yard TD run and finished with 141 yards rushing. Gallas had 10 catches for 184 yards and two TDs, and Aaron Abel kicked four field goals.
Gottula led Fort Hays with 24 completions for 257 yards, but the Tigers had only 34 yards rushing.

Durango – Matt Gutierrez completed 26-of-37 passes for 330 yards and four touchdowns as the Skyhawks defeated Chadron State for the first time since 1979.
Fort Lewis (3-2, 3-1 RMAC) held a 42-7 lead with 49 seconds left in the third quarter before Chadron State (?-?, ?-?) scored four unanswered touchdowns.
Gutierrez completed 14 of his first 15 throws. He also led Fort Lewis in the rushing with 86 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns.

Colorado Springs – Travis Sivek rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns and the Tartans’ defense made seven interceptions in a victory over the Tigers (1-3).
The loss spoiled an outstanding performance by CC freshman Justin Alexander, who returned five kickoffs for 214 yards, including a 93-yard touchdown return in the second quarter.
Alexander also had 12 carries for 98 yards while Tigers receiver Jake Craig finished with 12 catches for 105 yards and two TDs.
