Big 12: Huskers hustle
Nebraska quarterback Zac Taylor finished a record-setting day with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Cory Ross, lifting the Cornhuskers to a 27-20 double-overtime win over No. 23 Iowa State. Taylor passed for a school-record 431 yards. No. 2 Texas had no trouble rolling over host Missouri 51-20, and Texas A&M nips Baylor 16-13 in overtime.
MWC: Utes see blue
North Carolina got a measure of revenge for last season’s 46-16 loss to Utah, defeating the Utes 31-17 in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Michigan, running back: Gained 218 yards and scored a touchdown in team’s 34-31 overtime win over Michigan State.

Louisville, running back: Ran for a career-high 204 yards as No. 24 Louisville routed Florida Atlantic 61-10.
LenDale White
Southern Cal, running back: Gained 197 yards and scored two touchdowns on 19 carries in Trojans’ win over Arizona State.
Brandon Williams
Wisconsin, wide receiver: Caught two touchdown passes and returned a punt 63 yards for a score. He became the fourth player in school history to top 2,000 career yards receiving and also the fourth to return two punts for TDs in a season.

Tide rocks, rolls
Alabama entered Saturday ranked 15th and without a big-time win since the 1999 SEC championship game. That all ended with a 31-3 thrashing of No. 5 Florida in a battle of unbeatens at Tuscaloosa, Ala. Crimson Tide quarterback Brodie Croyle passed for three touchdowns, hitting 15-of-18 passes for 286 yards. And Alabama’s defense shut down coach Urban Meyer’s team. It was the first time as a head coach his team was held without a touchdown.
