Never Summer Ale
Boulder Beer Co. became Rockies Brewing Co., then Boulder Beer Co. again.
Despite the name change, it never gave up its traditional holiday beer – Never Summer Ale, a hearty tribute to the cold winter months.
Never Summer is a winner, bagging a gold medal at the 2004 World Beer Cup in the strong-ale category.
Named for the rugged Colorado mountain range, Never Summer Ale is in its fourth year, and has a deep ruby color and a pleasant hop finish. This year’s version is brewed with dark caramel malt and packs a slightly more robust punch, checking in at 6.04 percent alcohol (by volume).
Never Summer Ale, part of the brewery’s Looking Glass Series of specialty beers, is available in 12- and 22-ounce bottles throughout Colorado and 18 other states coast-to-coast. It’s on shelves through the winter.
