Colorado Springs fly-fishers seeking a break from the holiday shopping crowds need ponder no more. Simply head for The Peak Fly Shop on Dec. 17 for one of the neatest double dips you’ll ever find for free.
For openers, there’s the 10 a.m. Landon Mayer show, a dissertation on how to catch trophy trout in Colorado. Mayer is famous for his stealth and cunning in tracking lunkers in waters near and far; he’ll tell the secrets of spotting and stalking these most difficult trout.
Then, after a break for lunch, Marty Daack will take the stage at 1:30 p.m. to explain how to build a custom graphite rod – unfortunately not quite in time for a loved one’s Christmas. Of course, the shop will be happy to help with that during interludes. It all takes place at 5767 N. Academy Blvd. Call 719-260-1415 for details.
