Zane Grey: His Life, His Adventures, His Women Author Thomas H. Pauly gets into great detail – 408 pages of it – about the famous author of Western tales. Grey’s own story, full of great adventures and bawdy episodes, may be more interesting than his books.

On Tuesday, the Western Heritage Series releases repackaged favorites of three singing cowboys on CD: Gene Autry’s “Tumbling Tumblweeds,” Roy Rogers’ “Home on the Range” and Tex Ritter’s “America’s Most Beloved Cowboy.” Hard to pick, but Ritter is a good way to get to know this genre.
