Columbia, Mo. – Cindy Stein had little doubt her Missouri team would bounce back from a devastating loss at Texas on Saturday that knocked the Tigers out of the top 25.

That’s exactly what Missouri did Wednesday night, when four starters scored in double figures as the Tigers beat Colorado 69-49 at Mizzou Arena.

Christelle N’Garsanet and LaToya Bond each had 15 points to lead Missouri, while Carlyn Savant had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and EeTisha Riddle added 14 points.

“This team was probably more down than I’ve ever seen them after that loss,” Stein said. “And that’s a good thing in a way, though, because it also shows you how bad they want to be successful.”

Missouri (14-3) took control early against Colorado and held a double-digit lead from the 12:05 mark of the first half through the rest of the game.

“I think Missouri is probably one of the strongest teams in the conference,” Colorado coach Kathy McConnell-Miller said. “It was very difficult for us to find a weakness with their first five as far as exploiting something or taking away something.

“On film I liked them; in person I loved them.”

Jasmina Ilic led Colorado (6-11) with 15 points. The Buffaloes have lost 11 consecutive road games.

Laramie – Ambrosia Anderson had 14 points and nine rebounds, and the Cougars (13-1) used a 27-8 run during a 20- minute stretch spanning halftime to take a 38-20 lead with 12:29 left.

The Cowgirls (12-4) shot a season-low 21.6 percent.
