A drunk driver was sentenced to 36 years in prison Friday, for a crash that killed a brother and sister in Weld County.

Tobias Sholes, of Frederick, was given 18 years each in the deaths of Zuri and Isai Flores on February 9, 2005.

Isai, 24, was driving his sister Zuri, 20, to work early in the morning when Sholes hit their car.

He was facing up to 24 years on each of two vehicular homicide counts, but after emotional testimony at today’s hearing, Weld County District Court Judge Gilbert Gutierrez handed down the 36 year sentence.
