
Snow is moving out of the metro area, after leaving several inches on the road to slow the morning commute.
Between two and four inches of snow fell in town. Snow showers could continue through the morning, north of Denver in Broomfield and Longmont.
Blowing snow and strong winds could create whiteout conditions on the plains.
Highs in the upper 20s are forecast for Denver, but relatively warm roads and traffic melted the early snow, which could linger as ice to hinder the evening drive.
Denver’s Public Works Department says that crews are working throughout the day to prepare for the evening commute, even though snow has stopped in most locations.
After an overnight low of 4 degrees, temperatures should rise into the 30s for Saturday and the 40s for Sunday.
