Raytheon said Monday it has named Chuck Enoch vice president of the company’s Aurora- based Space Systems division.

He replaces Raymond Kolibaba, who retired this month, as Raytheon’s top Colorado executive.

Raytheon’s Space Systems division has nearly 2,600 employees, including about 2,200 in Aurora. The unit also has workers in Omaha and Chantilly, Va.

Space Systems has struggled recently. The unit failed to win a $2.1 billion Air Force contract in January that could have created up to 300 jobs in Aurora. The unit has undergone two rounds of layoffs in the past six months.

Space Systems is part of the defense giant’s Intelligence and Information Systems business, which provides services to the government and posted $2.5 billion in sales in 2005.

Enoch was previously director of operations and support programs for National Systems, also a part of Intelligence and Information Systems. He has worked for the company for about 20 years and has worked in Aurora since 2001.

Waltham, Mass.-based Raytheon employs 80,000 people and posted total revenue of $21.9 billion in 2005.
