Gunfire erupted between two cars traveling south on Interstate-25 early this morning, resulting in one man being shot in the side.
Northglenn police reported that a car pulled up to another just before 2 a.m. between 114th and 116th Avenues. An unknown number of shots were fired from the one car into the second car, one of which struck the second driver in the torso.
The shooter’s car sped away as the victim, traveling alone, managed to pull his car over to the side of the highway and stop. Passersby notified police and he was taken to Denver Health Medical Center for treatment.
Neither the victim nor the shooter was identified by police.
The highway was closed for roughly three hours this morning during the investigation, reopening around 5:30 a.m., in time for commuter traffic.
