BOULDER – Kansas police arrested two more people Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of Boulder businessman Sergio Libman, authorities said.

Libman, 43, was shot to death Monday outside his roofing business in the 3200 block of Carbon Place in Boulder.

Police said Libman was selling his Porsche on the Internet and the killers may have posed as prospective buyers.

Ryan Joseph Conan Barry, 25, was arrested at a home under construction in Edwardsville, Kan., after detectives obtained a warrant to arrest him on suspicion of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated robbery, police said.

Deputies also arrested 25-year-old Kimberly Johnson in Colby, Kan., Johnson left Colorado with Barry in a silver 2005 Kia, Boulder police said. She was booked in Thomas County, Kan., on suspicion of being an accessory to first-degree murder, police said.

Agencies get grants to house the homeless

Five Denver social service agencies will divide $1.7 million in city grants designed to provide housing for the homeless and, ultimately, eliminate the need for an emergency shelter that is bounced from neighborhood to neighborhood.

Grant recipients will provide a variety of housing assistance including transitional units for homeless women and children, housing for veterans, rental properties for homeless families and units that come with social services for the chronically homeless.

The grants range from $350,000 for a 40-unit hotel plan by the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless to nearly $108,000 for New Genesis Shelter, a part of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

In all the grants will pay for 166 units, some of them with priority use as a temporary shelter, eliminating the city’s need for its roving emergency shelter that currently is at the former Permits Building across from City Hall.

“The city will be providing the homeless with what they need most, housing and supportive services to help them get off the streets,” Denver Department of Human Services Director Roxane White said. “Not only is it the right thing to do, but we now know that housing the homeless actually saves the city money.”

Man jailed in federal

child-porn case

A Casper man has been jailed on federal charges of possession and attempted interstate distribution of child pornography.

Brett Swenson, 38, was arrested last week. A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court alleges that members of the Wyoming Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force traced child pornography to Swenson’s computer.

According to the complaint, state and federal agents raided Swenson’s home last month and took his computer. Swenson told agents that he was “downloading as much child pornography as he could and that he was planning to provide the images of child pornography to local law enforcement officials,” the complaint states.

Casper lawyer Tom Sedar represents Swenson. Sedar said Swenson had a court appearance Wednesday. Sedar said Swenson did not enter a plea to the charges and said Swenson was ordered held without bail. Sedar declined to comment further on the case.
