Metro State senior Kylee Hanavan, a three-time All-American, on Wednesday was named the National Soccer Coaches Association/Adidas women’s soccer Division II collegiate national player of the year.
Hanavan helped Metro State to two NCAA national titles in her three seasons (2004, 2006). She leaves Metro State as the Roadrunners’ all-time career leader in points (206), goals (80) and assists (46).
No blizzards in Austria benefit Beaver Creek
The lack of snow in Europe will be Beaver Creek’s gain.
The World Professional Championships, part of the Jeep King of the Mountain snowboarding series, will be held at Beaver Creek on Jan. 21. The event was scheduled for Zel am See, Austria. The series’ grand finale, with both boarders and skiers, will March 3 at Telluride.
