There’s good reason why the line winds long at Steamboat’s Azteca Taqueria. Chimichangas. Deep fried to a crispy golden hue, the AT’s freshly rolled chimis appear to be the main fuel for Steamboat’s locals. They must serve hundreds of the big-but-not-monstrous burritos daily. Go with the pulled pork – smoked, sauced and tender. Tacos, enchiladas and unfried burritos are made to order with just about any variation of meat, beans, spicy salsas and chili-heavy sauces. The fish tacos are touted as the best in Colorado. The breakfast burrito and dollar cuppa joe stand alone as Steamboat’s swiftest morning feed, and the $2 Tecates make it one of the most affordable dinner stops in town.
