UnitedHealth Group Inc. on Tuesday named former Colorado U.S. Attorney Thomas Strickland as executive vice president and chief legal officer starting May 28.
The Minneapolis-based health care services provider said Strickland will report directly to Chief Executive Stephen Hemsley and will be responsible for all corporate legal matters.
Strickland served as a U.S. attorney from 1999 to 2001 and spent 15 years before that in private practice. He has served UnitedHealth in the past as outside legal counsel and also managed Hogan & Hartson’s Colorado-based lawyers.
