Fifty players have been named to the annual Rockies Senior All-Star Baseball Game to held June 3 at Coors Field following the Colorado-Cincinnati Reds game, which starts at 1:05 p.m.
Chosen through input from coaches, the baseball committee, media, scouts and the Rockies, two 25-player groups will institute a batting order involving all team members in addition to regular field substitutions.

Brittney McDonald of Mullen has been named Colorado’s Gatorade soccer player of the year. The senior, who scored 16 goals during the regular season and has a 4.4 grade-point average, will play at Miami (Fla.). … Jeff Wennberg, who played on two big-school championship teams at George Washington with Chauncey Billups, has been named boys basketball coach at Columbine. The Denver native coached for five seasons at Arapahoe, including one as head coach. … Sean Cunningham, who helped Aurora Central to the 5A basketball title game, will sign with Fort Lewis and perhaps double in football. … Justin Hoffman has been selected to replace longtime coach Jeff Sweet as head man of Gateway football.
