A Greeley man is wanted for fleeing a double-fatal accident Wednesday night in which he left his wife seriously injured in his car, state troopers said.
Martin Morado, 45, was driving a Ford Taurus sedan around 8 p.m., Wednesday, when he failed to stop at the intersection of Weld County roads 45 and 54 and broadsided a Chevrolet station wagon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The two occupants of the Chevrolet were pronounced dead at the scene. The were identified this afternoon as Monte Davenport, 61, and Sandra Davenport, 60, both of Eaton.
Morado’s passenger, SanJuana Morado, 45, was seriously injured and was transported to Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Morado made a cell-phone call from the scene, then was picked up in a 1999 Ford pickup and fled the scene, according to authorities. The truck was found this morning at his residence. He is still at large.
Troopers said alcohol is considered a factor in the crash, which is being investigated.
