EAGLE, Colo.—The driver of a van that crashed into a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 near Eagle, killing three people, was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury.
Jose Benedicto Jose-Zacariaz, 27, faces three counts of transporting illegal immigrants resulting in death, which carries a penalty of up life in prison, U.S. Attorney Troy Eid announced.
Jose-Zacariaz also faces six counts of transportating illegal immigrants.
Nine of the 10 people inside the van were illegal immigrants.
