Englewood – A woman was shot in the arm by her neighbor Monday evening when he accidentally discharged his large-caliber handgun while cleaning it.
Police responded about 7:45 p.m., to the Marks Apartments at 1552 E. Girard Place, after the man had called police and reported that he accidentally fired the weapon through his wall.
Officers located a woman across the hall with a gunshot wound to her right arm, police said.
She was rushed to Swedish Medical Center where her condition was unavailable.
The man was taken into custody and police are investigating possible charges.
