GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—Garfield County has approved Chevron’s proposal for temporary worker housing as the energy giant ramps up natural gas drilling north of DeBeque.
The county commissioners approved permits for three camps to house a total of 68 people. The camps are designed to ease a local shortage of affordable housing, reduce traffic and improve safety.
Chevron, which owns about 40,000 acres near DeBeque, has said it wants to ultimately drill thousands of wells.
